Crystals have captivated us since the dawn of time. They grow in such wildly colorful and beautifully intricate formations it’s no wonder we are so fascinated by them. They have held almost a mystical sense of awe for us in the ways that they can refract light, and cast a certain mood on a room as well as the people in it.
It seems that man’s intimate relationship with precious stones dates back further than our records can account for. There is evidence that they have been used in burial practices, and exported around the globe. There are many ancient texts which list the different healing properties of stones, and procedural documentation about how to use them for everything from banishing evil spirits to healing kidney problems.
In many ancient civilizations the stones were used to protect warriors in battle, they would adorn crowns and the garments of religious leaders, and used for making protective amulets and good luck charms. It seems throughout the course of human history precious stones were revered for various reasons. So why are they so special to us? What is it about them that fascinates us and leads us to assigning them with healing “powers”?
You can walk into many gift shops and metaphysical shops and find shelves and bins full of crystals and polished gem stones. Each one labeled with a name and a list of various ailments and disorders that they can help balance. Which for many people is a lot of fun, the idea that these beautiful objects can be worn or carried with us, and that they are somehow helping us to heal our woes. For some, just the virtue that they are so shiny and colorful is reason enough to keep them around. For others, keeping these precious stones with them takes on a religious quality, making them feel as though they are conjuring the presence of higher beings that can aid them on their travels through life.
Anyone who is even mildly sensitive to biofield energy can tell so many great stories about how certain stones make them feel certain ways. There is always this idea that the stones themselves carry a sort of spiritual power that is somehow exuding from them and affecting us when they are around. Other than a few exceptions, I don’t think that inert objects have the ability to project anything, let alone cast a magical spell that can heal us. I am far from saying that there isn’t something going on here.
Are you ready to get metaphysical? Because I sure am! So if we follow the theory that the biofield exists (I mean, you can believe whatever you want, it’s definitely there), we know that the energy of the biofield cycles several times per second giving it its base frequency. As the energy in this field makes each pass through the entire body it follows the path of the least resistance in a consistent pattern.
The molecular structure of crystals, as compared to a piece of manufactured silicate (glass), has a highly organized and rigid structure. Over layers and layers of duplication as the minerals bond together and form into crystals we end up with these incredible geometric shapes that crystals are known for. When you introduce a crystal into the natural flow of the biofield, with each pass these intricate structures affect the way that the energy flows through the body. This helps the energy that passes through the crystal to be manipulated by the molecular structure of the crystals and the energy flows in a more organized way. This helps to regulate erratic energies and bring the biofield back to homeostasis.
If you can imagine energy flowing through your body as a stream that is constantly moving where ever it pleases. If you put a few rocks in the river you can influence the way the water flows. You can make a complex pattern of objects in the stream and make it flow in several straight lines, you can change the direction it flows, you can even influence it to pool up in areas where you need it the most. Using crystals in healing is no different.
So given this information, it is of my research based opinion, coupled with years of experience I feel pretty safe saying that there is no magical power in the crystals themselves. They do not create a mystical force that allows you to contact your dead cat, or heal your melanoma. What they can do is influence and organize the way in which energy flows though your body. Having an organized (or coherent) flow to your energy allows your biofield to nourish all the cells that it contacts in the most efficient way possible. When your cells are receiving proper energy nourishment they will thrive. If you have large groups of cells that are thriving they become strong enough to over take diseased cells and restore the body to health.
So my advice, get some crystals! Start carrying them with you. Start meditating with them. Share them with your friends. Keep them in your house, maybe in popular family areas, or on a bedside table. We have been living along side crystals for literally thousands of years, I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t continue to do so. Even if you find many of these concepts hard to grasp, that’s okay, but ask yourself, what could it possibly hurt to try?
So if you would like to learn more about the healing potential of crystals please, click the link below and come to our crystal healing workshop. You’ll have a chance to hear me expand on many of the concepts I went over in this post. Even better, you’ll have an opportunity to come in and play with crystals. I’ll even teach you some neat ways that you can use them to help you and those you care about to enhance your health and your life. I hope to see you there!
