In our lives we have all experienced illness in one form or another. For the most part our bodies are capable of self-regulating these ailments and coming back to a place of balanced function with little or no intervention. Some illnesses we experience are a little trickier and like to hang around for awhile.
For many of these long standing illnesses we have developed some pretty successful ways of managing our health while still having the disease. Many of these treatments prevent the disease from manifesting through the symptoms of the disease, but the disease itself is still alive and well behind the scenes.
For the most part, deafening the symptoms allows us to return to our lives, as though the disease no longer existed. Looking at this situation from the outside it seems as though the disease were cured, though it is still alive and well beneath the surface continuing to grow and potentially doing more damage.
When talking about our health I use the philosophy; “There is no such thing as a problem, where a solution does not exist simultaneously.” What does that mean? To me that means that no matter what the issue is there is a solution, a real solution. A way to bring the problem to an end. It seems like with all of our medical intervention, we aren’t achieving this goal. So why would we do this?
In many cases, in order to change our health in a real significant way, we would have to make some pretty big changes in our daily routines and habits. We would have to alter our exercise regimen, eat things that we are not accustomed to, monitor our health in very stringent ways. None of these things seem appealing to us, and how could they? When we have access to drugs and other tools that allow us to feel as though we are in better health without having to do all the work to address the root cause of our suffering.
Very recently I was having a discussion with some people about dealing with a few illnesses. These people were very excited to be getting off of their medications and switching to CBD oil or other homeopathic remedies to soothe their conditions. They thought that making this move away from pharmaceutical intervention was bringing them to a place where they would now be cured. They all had their reasons for believing that this was the case.
To me it looks as though they are trading one form of chemical intervention for another. Maybe these other remedies would give them less side affects (or even possibly new ones), but they were still just managing symptoms rather than working on solving the problem.
In order to seek a cure, you must first believe in it. There is so much documentation talking about how certain illnesses cannot be cured, but can only be managed through medical intervention. Given my aforementioned philosophy I don’t believe this to be true, in any case. I just think that we haven’t found the solution, but it is out there, it just needs to be found and implemented.
With my own personal struggles with health I found no answers from allopathic medicine. I believed what I was being told by medical professionals, that these problems I was experiencing were permanent, incurable, and that I would be managing my health with medication for the rest of my life. I was told, I just had to face that reality.
I did.
Eventually I reached a point where I determined, that this was not living. Living day to day sick and unable to live my life was an unattractive prospect. I finally determined that I had had enough, and I was going to find a solution. That literal moment, I began reaching out. Connecting with other health options. Getting in touch with practitioners of various alternative modalities. I tried everything I could, and worked diligently toward a solution.
I put in the time, I did the work and was able to reverse the health conditions I had found myself stuck in. I used every tool at my disposal and I found a way out of conditions I had been “treating” for the last 13 years. Today I live my life, unrestricted by my health. Now when I experience a state of disease I take the time to get in touch with the tools that continue to keep me in good health.
This moment in my life is part of how I ended up doing the sort of work I do in my life. Inspired by those who had helped me though my suffering, I myself decided to become involved in the field of alternative health. I have lived the results and now I use that experience to help other people on their path to health. I hope that more like me will step forward and help those who need it most to do the work to reclaim their life and their health.
